Ever since I can remember I’ve always been “creating”. From a limitless source of imagination as a child to a real-world, practical, human-focused design thinking as an adult.

Design is the essence of being a human, in ways we don’t even realise. We design the route we are taking to work, we design our homes, our futures. It’s about creating a better way. By perfecting systems, challenging the norm and sometimes designing things that just look plain amazing (because it functions!), we’re incorporating design into our world.

As designers we have an ethical responsibility. Whether it’s creating ideas, concepts or physical items, we can make a difference with our communication and our systems - that’s the legacy of the humble designer.
